Our Origins
Daystar Wheaton Group, LLC was formed in October 2006
by combining two leading Chicago-area database marketing
service companies, Daystar Data Group, Inc. and Wheaton
Group LLC.
Daystar Data Group was founded in April 1990 with
a focus on providing data processing and list services
to leading direct marketing companies. As it grew,
Daystar’s repertoire expanded to include marketing
databases, and powerful Web-based desktop access and
campaign management tools via its Alterian-driven DB
Pro™ Marketing Suite.
The philosophy of Daystar’s Co-Founders has
always been to combine technology-based solutions with
practical direct marketing expertise, thereby enabling
clients to make faster and better marketing decisions.
Daystar brought over fifty clients into the equation,
including Amazon.com.
Wheaton Group was founded in January 2000 with a focus
on the creation of Best-Practices Data Content™ in
the form of Marketing-Optimized Databases™, and the
employment of advanced data mining and consulting to
help clients maximize the return on investment from
these databases. Its four Co-Founders have well over
100 years of experience across over 100 clients and
spanning:
- Business-to-consumer, business-to-business and business-to-institution.
- Most vertical industries including (alphabetically)
catalog, consumer package goods, financial services,
non-profit, publishing and telecommunications.
- All major distribution channels including retail,
direct (mail, phone and e-commerce) and field sales.
Wheaton Group brought a number of prestigious clients
into the equation, including Godiva Chocolatier. The
relationship with Godiva, which begin in June 2001,
currently encompasses a full array of CRM solutions,
including database hosting, data mining and consulting,
circulation planning and execution, and the management
of third-party vendors.
Daystar Wheaton Group, LLC combines the data processing
infrastructure and client access tools of Daystar Data
Group with the Best-Practices Marketing Database Content™,
data mining and consulting expertise of Wheaton Group.
As a result, clients have a powerful alternative to
the fragmented service offerings typically available
in today’s marketplace, in the form of a powerful,
comprehensive solution to the total range of their
marketing challenges.
